Grampian Stroke Group

Speakability Self-Help Groups are run by and for people with Aphasia - language-loss following stroke, head injury or other neurological conditions.

At our meetings we support each other, share experiences, make new friends, rebuild self-confidence and develop new skills.

We practise total communication using words, drawing, pictures and gesture. We all understand Aphasia and encourage each other in our recovery.

e relax and have fun. We raise awareness of Aphasia in our local community and raise funds to support our group meetings, activities and outings.

Meetings are normally held on the third Thursday of every month.

As the government advice to stay at home has been extended, we are pausing our Stroke Association voluntary groups until further notice.

Please contact Maureen.Hunter@stroke.org.uk to find out what alternative support is still available in your local area.
